America The Beautiful

After watching the inauguration and all the pomp and ceremony that goes with it, it finally hit me that we're witnessing a truly historic moment. Two hundred and some years after the Declaration of Independence stated that all men are created equal, and the Thirteenth, Fourteenth, Fifteenth, and Nineteenth Amendments to the Constitution made it the law of the land, President Obama's election (and even Hillary Clinton's campaign) showed that any American can be president. You can be black, white, male, female, whatever. All you need is a better idea and the determination to succeed. There is still a lot of work to do, but I am really proud of my country and proud to be an American.

After watching George Bush take off in a helicopter on his way back to Texas, my only thought was, "GTFO!!"

I too felt very proud watching the Inauguration. It was a great moment in history. I liked President Obama's speech, but the best part was definitely seeing the helicopter leave. My thought was, see you a-hole!
