At the beginning of the season, (though I can't prove it now) I was saying it's going to be the Ducks and the Senators in the Stanley Cup Finals. I was surpised at how well the Red Wings are doing (I picked the Sharks and the Ducks in the conference finals) but I still believe Anaheim will make the Cup Finals. As of right now they hold a 3 to 2 game lead over Detroit. For the Eastern Conference Finals I picked the Senators and the Sabres to meet with Ottawa winning. For once I got one right. But being a Flyers fan, I HATE Buffalo and I'll never pick them. No matter how good they are. I'll post my Finals pick after the Western Conference is decided.

For 2 1/2 periods the Ducks looked like they were just going to skate away with game 6. The Red Wings couldn't get anything going without Anaheim's defense smothering them. But if you are a Ducks fan that third period had to have you on the edge of your seat. Detroit wasn't going to just go away and they made it a nail biter right up to the final seconds. But the Ducks held on and they're going to the Finals where I think they'll beat Ottawa. The Senators have a lot of speed and a great offense but I think Anaheim's more balanced with contributions coming from all their players. It's going to be a great, close series with the Ducks winning it in 7 games.

Unfortunately, I got to see very little of this year's hockey season....not that I missed much with the Flyers. Worst team in the league! Alas, hopefully the re-building process will be quick.
Alright, so I was off a couple of games but the Ducks did win it all. The first couple of games were pretty close, but Anaheim was just too much for the Senators. Too bad Anaheim won the Cup with those ugly-ass uniforms.
I'm just glad they canned the "Mighty" part of the team name. Seemed a bit pretentious, don't you think? Now, they just have to get rid of the other stupid part......
